Ryan John Crowther (born September 17, 1988 in Stockport ) is an English football player .

Career

Crowther comes from the Stockport County's youth system , where he played for a total of nine years. He made his debut in Football League Two on January 2, 2006 against Cheltenham Town , the club's first game with Jim Gannon as coach, who replaced him shortly before the end of the game. His second league appearance followed in September when he was surprisingly on the starting line-up in a 3-0 loss to Shrewsbury Town . In the summer of 2007 he and his teammate Greg Tansey took part as a test player on Liverpool FC's summer tour to Italy. While Tansey stayed at Stockport, Crowther moved to Liverpool for a six-figure fee.

At Liverpool, Crowther played regularly in the youth and reserve team for the next two years. However, he was neither in the victory in the championship final of the Premier Reserve League in 2008 nor in winning the Liverpool Senior Cup in 2009. In August 2009, his contract was terminated, as it was initially called by mutual agreement. It was not until a year later that it became known that Crowther had beaten up a taxi driver standing on the roadside for no reason on the way home after an argument with his girlfriend in Watford town center while he was completely drunk , which prompted the club to terminate his contract immediately.

As a result, Crowther completed trial training at AFC Bournemouth and Grimsby Town and his youth club Stockport, but it was not enough for a new contract. In August 2010, he joined the sixth division Stalybridge Celtic , but his stint there was short-lived, as he was sentenced to four months in prison for assault and assault in September 2010.

After his release from prison, he joined the seventh division Ashton United in November 2010 , and in June 2011 he moved to the neighboring sixth division FC Hyde .
