Ryan Raybould (born May 30, 1983 in Leawood , Kansas ) is an American football player .
Career
Raybould played at Rockhurst High School while in school and won the Kansas State Championship with the team in his senior year. From 2001 to 2004 he played at the prestigious Yale University , during which time he also earned a bachelor's degree in history. He was captain of the college team in 2004 and was elected to the all-star team of the Ivy League . In addition, he played in the season breaks from 2002 to 2004 in the USL Premier Development League with Kansas City Brass , where he was also the captain in 2004.
In March 2005 Raybould signed a developmental contract (a low-paid contract for young players) in Major League Soccer with the Kansas City Wizards . With a short stint as a right-back on July 16, 2005 against Real Salt Lake , he made his league debut, mostly playing in 2005 in the MLS reserve league . In the following two seasons he was part of the extended squad and came to eight and ten league appearances. In March 2008, shortly before the start of the MLS season, Raybould was put on the waiver list by Kansas and then moved to the Swedish fourth division club Sandvikens IF . In July 2008 he moved to the first division club Gefle IF in Sweden , where he made four league appearances in the further course of the season. After he no longer played a role in the planning at the beginning of the 2009 season, he dissolved his contract in July and returned to the United States.
