Ryan Toby

Ryan Toby (* 26. November 1978 in Willingboro , New Jersey ) is an American Soul - singer , songwriter and music producer .

Life

In 1993, at the age of 15, he took on the role of the student "Ahmal" in Sister Act 2 - In divine mission , sang Oh Happy Day solo and wrote the rap for the song Joyful, Joyful .

Toby had his first success as a songwriter in 1997 with the song Miami , sung by Will Smith . Since then he has written songs for Bobby Brown , Dru Hill and Usher .

2001 Toby was won over by Wyclef Jean for his band project City High . The debut album of the same name went platinum and was nominated for a Grammy . In 2003 the band separated again. In 2004, Ryan Toby married his former bandmate Claudette Ortiz .

In 2007, Soul of a Songwriter was his first solo album.
