Sándor László Barabás (born October 12, 1992 ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing again at the CS Progym Gheorgheni in the Romanian ice hockey league since December 2015 .

Career

Club

Sándor László Barabás, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career with Debreceni HK in Hungary, for whom he played in Hungarian youth leagues and in the Hungarian second division. In 2013 he returned to his hometown, where he played one season for the CS Progym Gheorgheni in the Romanian ice hockey league. After being on the ice again in Debrecen from summer 2014 to December 2015 - this time in the multinational MOL league - he has since played for Progym Gheorgheni again.

International

Unlike other Szeklers who play for Hungary , Barabás plays internationally for his native Romania . In the junior division, he took part in the 2011 U20 World Championships in Division II.

Barabás made his debut in the men's national team at the 2017 World Cup in Division II, where he was promoted to Division I.
