Sárolta Máthé

Sárolta Máthé - married Lukacs - is a Hungarian table tennis player . She was European champion three times in the 1960s.

Career

Sárolta Máthé won 13 titles at the Hungarian National Championships , in 1960, 1962, 1964, 1965 and 1966 in singles, 1961, 1964, 1966 and 1967 in doubles and from 1964 to 1967 in mixed.

From 1959 to 1967 she took part in five world championships and won bronze with the Hungarian women's team in 1963 and 1967 . She was successful at all three European championships in which she was represented: In 1960 she won team gold, silver in doubles with Éva Kóczián , bronze in singles and in mixed with Zoltán Bubonyi . Four years later she became European mixed champion together with Péter Rózsás , in team competition she came second and in doubles with Angela Papp she won bronze. Also in 1966 she won the title in the team competition, in mixed with Péter Rózsás she reached the semi-finals. In Germany she was in the final of the women's doubles with Ella Zeller at the International German Championships 1962/63 in Frankfurt am Main .

In the ITTF world rankings in mid-1971 she was ranked 11th to 16th. After 1967, Sárolta Máthé-Lukacs ceased to appear internationally.

Private

Around 1963 Sárolta married Máthé and then performed under the name Lukacs .
