São João do Monte is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Tondela . The community had 859 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of São João do Monte and Mosteirinho merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de São João do Monte e Mosteirinho . São João do Monte is the seat of this newly formed community.
There is a three-arched Roman bridge made of granite blocks near the village .
