São Miguel is a municipality ( freguesia ) on the Portuguese Atlantic island of São Miguel in the district ( concelho ) of Vila Franca do Campo . 2659 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011) live in the municipality on an area of 12.6 km², which corresponds to a population density of 211.1 inhabitants / km².
The municipality of São Miguel, together with the municipality of São Pedro , makes up the urban area of Vila Franca do Campos.
