São Sebastião da Giesteira is a locality and former municipality in Portugal .
The Antas do Pinheiro do Campo are about 1.2 km northeast of the village on both sides of the M370 road.
history
Antas and other finds prove a prehistoric settlement, including the well-known Antas do Pinheiro do Campo .
The present-day place was probably built long after the medieval Reconquista . The first records date from the 16th century.
In 1926, São Sebastião da Giesteira became an independent municipality, until it was dissolved again with the territorial reform in 2013 and merged with Nossa Senhora da Boa Fé to form a new municipality.

São Sebastião da Giesteira was the seat of a municipality of the same name ( Freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Évora , in the Évora district . 815 inhabitants lived in the municipality on an area of 43 km² (as of June 30, 2011).

With the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, the municipalities of São Sebastião da Giesteira and Nossa Senhora da Boa Fé were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de São Sebastião da Giesteira e Nossa Senhora da Boa Fé . The seat of the new municipality was São Sebastião da Giesteira.
