São Tomé do Castelo is a former parish ( freguesia ) of the district ( concelho ) of Vila Real in the Vila Real district . It has 944 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the municipal reorganization, the municipality was merged with the previous municipality of Justes to form the new district municipality of União das Freguesias de São Tomé do Castelo e Justes on September 29, 2013 . The seat of the community commonly known as São Tomé do Castelo e Justes is São Tomé do Castelo.
