Antonio Montes Moreira

António Montes Moreira OFM (born April 30, 1935 in São Tomé do Castelo ) is the former bishop of Bragança-Miranda .

Life

António Montes Moreira joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 13 July 1958, the priestly ordination .

John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Bragança - Miranda on June 13, 2001 . He was ordained bishop by the Patriarch of Lisbon , Cardinal José da Cruz Policarpo , on October 14th of the same year; Co- consecrators were António José Rafael , Bishop Emeritus of Bragança-Miranda, and Joaquim Gonçalves , Bishop of Vila Real .

On July 18, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
