The Metro Station Ségur is a station on the Line 10 of the Paris Métro .

location

The station is located on the border of the Quartier de l'École Militaire of the 7th arrondissement with the Quartier Necker of the 15th arrondissement of Paris . It lies lengthways under avenue Suffren at the level of rue Pérignon which crosses it.

Surname

The name is given by the nearby avenue de Ségur. The de Ségur family included famous military men ( Philippe-Henri de Ségur ), diplomats ( Louis-Philippe de Ségur ), historians ( Philippe-Paul de Ségur ) and writers . The best known is the author Sophie de Ségur (1799–1874), her book Les Malheurs de Sophie is one of the classics of literature for children.

History and description

The station opened on September 29, 1937. On that day the connection between the western (from Porte d'Auteuil to La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle ) and the eastern (from Vaneau to Jussieu ) section of line 10, where the Ségur station is located, went into operation.

It lies under an elliptical vault, the side walls follow the curvature of the ellipse. The ceiling and the walls are tiled in white. At 75 m, it has the original Parisian standard length, sufficient for five-car trains. The two main tracks are flanked by two side platforms.

The entrances are on both sides of avenue Suffren at the intersection with rue Pérignon.

Conventional MF 67 series trains run on Line 10 . Between 1975 and 1994 trains of the MA series ran , before that of the Sprague-Thomson type .
