Søren Mørch

Søren Mørch (born December 2, 1933 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish historian who was awarded the Søren Gyldendal Prize in 1990 .

Life

After attending school, Mørch studied history and between 1967 and 2003 was a lecturer at Odense University, now the University of Southern Denmark . He was also co-editor of Gyldendal Danmark history , the 1977-1992 in ten volumes in publishing Gyldendal appeared, and in 1992 the editor of the six-volume work Det Europæiske hus whose first volume he wrote. In 1990 he was honored with the Søren Gyldendal Prize for his literary work.

He was also the author of numerous specialist books on the history of Denmark such as Den ny Danmarkshistorie 1880-1960 (1982), Det store bankkrak. Landmandsbankens sammenbrud 1922-23 (1986) about the financial crisis at Danske Bank in the early 1920s , Den sidste Danmarkshistorie (1996) and with Per Hansen Den Danske Bank (1997).

In 2003 he was awarded the Rosenkjærprisen.
