Egon Sommerfeld

Egon Sommerfeld (born December 3, 1930 in Lindenwerder ; † June 26, 2014 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1994 to 2002 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Education and life

Egon Sommerfeld attended elementary school until 1944 and worked as a farm worker after the expulsion from 1945 to 1947. In 1948 he became a breeding warden and worked from 1947 to 1951 as a performance tester and from 1951 to 1954 in his parents' farm. 1954 to 1960 he worked as a self-employed farmer. After the forced collectivization , he worked as a cooperative farmer from 1960 to 1990. He was chairman of LPG Pretzier for a total of 23 years . In 1962 he became a master of cattle breeding, in 1971 an agricultural engineer and in 1975 a diploma in agricultural engineering.

Egon Sommerfeld, who was of the Protestant denomination, was married and had three children.

politics

Egon Sommerfeld had been a member of the CDU since 1971 . From 1990 to 1994 he was district administrator in the Salzwedel district . From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the district assembly of the Salzwedel district and since 1994 of the district assembly of the Altmark district of Salzwedel. In the district council he was chairman of the building committee. He has also been a member of the Pretzier municipal council since 1994.

He was elected in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 1994 in the state electoral district of Salzwedel and in 1998 via the state list in the state parliament. In the state parliament he was chairman of the committee for food, agriculture and forestry and a member of the committee for petitions.

Other offices

From 1954 to 1990 he worked on a voluntary basis in various committees for cattle and horse breeding at both regional and central levels. In 1993 he became an honorary member of the Horse Breeding Association of Saxony-Anhalt and an honorary member of the "Texas Rangers eV". Since 1990 he has worked in the Rinderzuchtverband Sachsen-Anhalt eG (RSA) as a board member, as well as in the district cattle breeding association and was an honorary member of the Rinderzuchtverband. He was a member of various clubs and associations.
