The Sørsdal Glacier ( Norwegian Sørsdalbreen ) is a glacier located in Princess Elizabeth Land in East Antarctica . It is located approximately 12 km from Davis Station in Australia . The approximately 25 km long glacier flows in a westerly direction along the south side of the Krok Fjord and the Vestfold Mountains and flows into Prydz Bay with a pronounced glacier tongue .

The Norwegian whaling captain Karius Mikkelsen (1887 - unknown) discovered them in February 1935 as part of the Thorshavn's fourth Antarctic voyage (1934–1935) financed by the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Lars Christensen . He named it after Leif Sørsdal, a Norwegian dentist and crew member of the Thorshavn .

Between 2001 and 2004 one of the mobile DORIS stations was on the glacier several times . The aim was to measure the speed of the glacier. Measurements in 2000 and 2001 showed speeds of 80 meters per year, which is about 6 times slower than expected based on previous research reports.
