The Sørskeidet (Norwegian for south-glaciated area ) is an icy valley in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Wohlthatmassiv it is north of the Skeidshovden .
Aerial photographs of the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher were used for initial mapping. Norwegian cartographers, who also named the valley, mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
