The Sorpresa Rock ( Spanish Roca Sorpresa 'surprise rock ' ; in the United Kingdom Suprise Island , German surprise island ) is an exposed cliff rock off the southern end of Adelaide Island and west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located southwest of Cavalier Rock .
His name can be found for the first time on a Chilean map from 1947. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred this designation in 1964 in a partial translation into English. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided in the same year to name it independently.
