South-East Connection (SOV)
Basic data
Operator: State of Berlin

State :

Berlin

Development condition: 2 × 2 lanes (section 1)

The south-east connection ( SOV for short ) is a project to build a city expressway with few crossings, including a Spree crossing in Berlin .

It is intended to connect the redevelopment areas of Ober - and Niederschöneweide with the A 113 motorway and relieve nearby bridges such as the Stubenrauchbrücke and Treskowbrücke from individual traffic.

Construction stages

Part 1

The first construction phase of the SOV, which opened on December 21, 2017, leads from Rummelsburger Strasse to Köpenicker Landstrasse / Schnellerstrasse. From Rummelsburger Strasse, the SOV runs along the newly created Minna-Todenhagen-Strasse , the former Grenzweg. A new bridge was built to cross the Spree in 2013–2017 . The SOV thus follows the Britzer Zweigkanal on the eastern side to Köpenicker Landstrasse.

Section 2

In the second construction phase, an extension from Köpenicker Landstrasse to Baumschulenstrasse is planned, up to which the new road is to run on the east side of the Britzer branch canal. However, the high-voltage line has to be relocated for implementation, which means that planning is still being delayed.

Section 3

The further route to the Späthstraße junction on the A 113 has not yet been finally clarified (status: autumn 2015). The planned SOV route in Späthsfelde from there meets with resistance from allotment gardeners based there. The planning for this section has not yet started. At the same time, the Späthsfelde area is to be developed into a commercial location.
