After the FIA ​​decided to introduce Formula 4 regulations in 2013, the Southeast Asian Formula 4 championship was launched for the 2016 season. The championship is hosted by the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) and the Asian Autosport Action Group (AAA). The term F4 SEA Championship is also used for the championship.
