The Japanese Formula 4 Championship (officially F4 Japanese Championship certified by FIA ) is an automobile racing series according to the FIA - Formula 4 regulations in Japan . The Japanese Formula 4 Championship was held for the first time in 2015 . The championship is hosted by GTA .
The Japanese Formula 4 championship is not identical to the JAF Japan Formula 4 and is the only FIA-certified Formula 4 championship in Japan.
history
After the FIA decided to introduce Formula 4 regulations in 2013, the race organizer GTA decided to host the Japanese Formula 4 championship from 2015 . The Japanese Formula 4 championship takes place on race weekends of the Japanese GT racing series Super GT . Both championships are organized by GTA.

There are two races with one qualifying each.

In the Japanese Formula 4 Championship will Dome chassis F110 with a TOM'S - Toyota used -3ZR engine. The tires are from Sumitomo Rubber Industries and are used under the brand name Dunlop .
particularities
The Japanese Formula 4 championship shows some deviations from the sporty FIA Formula 4 regulations. In contrast to the three-race racing weekend proposed by the FIA, the Japanese Formula 4 championship only takes place two races per event. In addition, a completely different point system to that of the FIA is used and there is only one bonus point for the pole position and not for the fastest lap of the race .
