Sławomir Piechota

Sławomir Jan Piechota (born January 1, 1960 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

Sławomir Piechota has been paraplegic since he was 12 years old due to an accident. He is a graduate of the Law Faculty of the University of Wroclaw . Between 1990 and 1994 he was the disability officer of the Wroclaw Voivodeship . He was also head of the Voivodship Center for Employment and Rehabilitation of the Disabled. In 1994 he became a member of the Wroclaw City Council, where he was first deputy chairman and later chairman until 1998. From January 1999 to November 2002, Piechota was a member of the Wroclaw City Council. In the parliamentary elections in 2005 Sławomir Piechota was able to win a seat in the Sejm . He was able to defend this mandate in the early elections in 2007 . In 2010 Piechota ran for the post of mayor of Wroclaw, but had to admit defeat to Rafał Dutkiewicz .

Sławomir Piechota has been married since 1985 and has two children.
