Career
society
In his youth, the 1.90 m tall Hirayama played in the Kunimi High School in what is now Unzen , for which he hunted goals from 2001 to 2003. In all his years there he was able to conquer the championship of the high schools and was even the top scorer in 2002 and 2003. In 2004 he joined the University of Tsukuba , for which he played until 2005.
For the 2005/2006 season he completed a one-week trial training session with the Dutch first division club Feyenoord Rotterdam . This decided against a commitment of the striker and a little later Hirayama signed a contract with the newly promoted Heracles Almelo . He made his debut for the black and white in the game against ADO Den Haag on August 20, 2005. Although he only played 15 minutes, he still scored two goals. At the end of the season there were 31 games and eight goals.
In the new season he only played one game before returning to Japan to finish his studies . Dorch shortly after his return he signed a contract with the local capital club FC Tokyo . This happened even though Hirayama was still tied to Almelo until 2008. In 2009 he and his team achieved the first major national success of his career. Hirayama led his team by four goals in nine games into the final of the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup , where they beat Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 .
National team
Hirayama took part in the 2003 and 2005 World Youth Championships with the Japanese U-20 national team. Although national coach Zico repeatedly praised the development of the young talent, Hirayama was not nominated for the 2006 World Cup in Germany . He had to wait until January 6, 2010 for his first assignment when he was called up by new coach Takeshi Okada . In the qualifying game for the 2011 Asian Cup against Yemen , Hirayama came on as a substitute for Naoki Yamada in the 21st minute when the score was 0: 1 . After the Yemeni team scored the second goal, Hirayama scored a hat trick that helped his team to a 3-2 win. It was the first three-pack by a debut Japanese national player in over 80 years. The last player to do so was Takeo Wakabayashi in the 1930s. Hirayama was not nominated for the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa .
