The locomotives of the SŽD series М derС of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) were wide-gauge diesel locomotives for work train service . They were used to supply energy and transport track-bound track - laying machines and were manufactured in 64 copies by the Kaluga machine works from 1956 to 1960 .

history

A diesel locomotive electrical station project was developed in the project planning and construction office of the Ministry of Transport and Communications ( MPS ) for the supply of electrical energy and the transfer of track-bound track construction machines and mechanical equipment . On this project, the Kaluga machine factory built a test locomotive in 1956, which was given the designation МЭС.001 ( MES.001 ).

Construction of the experimental diesel locomotive

The diesel locomotive МЭС.001 ( MES.001 ) had a locomotive body with stems that was set up on a sheet metal frame. The spring suspension consisted of leaf and coil springs placed on the wheel bearings .

The diesel engine 1Д12 ( 1D12 ) with an output of 221 kW (300 PS) was used as the drive unit . The traction generator ПН-1750 ( PN-1750 ), which can produce 200 kW of power, is connected to the shaft of the diesel engine . There is also a three-phase generator with the designation СД-128/4 ( SD-128/4 ) in the same housing of the generator . It supplies the track-laying machines with electricity with the same output at a frequency of 50 Hz. The electric traction motors of the type ДК-304Б ( DK-304B ), which were already used in the diesel locomotives of the ТЭ1 and ТЭ2 series, were used as electric traction motors for driving the locomotive . They each had an output of 98 kW.

The diesel engine was water-cooled, and there was also oil to lubricate the engine and air to cool the traction drive motors. This together achieved an automatic regulation of the temperature of the water and the oil.

The diesel locomotive had an axle load of 19 t (friction mass = 38 t); at a speed of five km / h it reached a pulling force of 50 kN. The first trial operation of the locomotive was carried out on the Fryazevo - Noginsk section of the Trans-Siberian Railway .

Construction of the series diesel locomotives

At the end of 1957 the Kaluga machine factory delivered the МЭС.002 ( MES.002 ) diesel locomotive , the project was reworked by the company's design office under the direction of engineer WE Gora . The stems of this diesel locomotive have been enlarged a little. In addition, roller bearings were used, and gear wheels from the C Д motor vehicle series were used for the drives for the cradle bearing drive . The traction electric drive motors of the DPI-150 ( DPI-150 ) series also come from this series .

The diesel engine 1Д12 ( 1D12 ) was also used on the diesel locomotive МЭС.002 ( MES.002 ) . Instead of the traction generator ПН-1750 ( PN-1750 ), the generator with the designation МПТ-49 / 25-3 ( MPT-49 / 25-3 ) with a power of 195 kW was used. The alternator was left without changes. The traction drive motors DPI -150 ( DPI-150 ) were cooled with independent ventilation, that was realized with small motor fans and three-phase drive. For the supply of air, the compressor with the designation Э-400 ( E-400 ) was used, which was electrically fed by the motor with the designation АП ( AP ) with a power of 10 kW.

The drive switch had 14 positions; the control, the lighting and the charging of the accumulator battery were fed by the auxiliary generator which was connected to the diesel engine. The diesel locomotive had a fuel supply of 1400 l, for oil of 100 l, and for water and sand for 150 l each. The series locomotive had a total service weight of 40.4 t, with an axle load of 20.5 t on the front axle and 19.9 t on the rear axle.

The locomotive achieved a pulling force of 64 kN as starting tractive effort, at a speed of 23 km / h the tractive effort was 25 kN. The nominal speed was 80 km / h.

The first inspection of the МЭС.002 ( MES.002 ) diesel locomotive , carried out by a commission from the operator, brought a large number of changes to its design. The Kaluga machine factory then delivered the series vehicles for the diesel locomotive electric stations from 1958 to 1960, with parts of the diesel locomotives built instead of the three-phase generator with the designation СД-128/4 ( SD-128/4 ) being the designation ГС-104-4 ( GS-104-4 ) was used.
