Legal position

According to a ruling by the European Court of Justice in April 2017, the streaming of unauthorized copyrighted offers is an improper act, the consequences of which can be recognized as a copyright infringement . Since the website does not act as a video storage service, but only provides hyperlinks to external services, the website operators reject any allegations of unlawful acts.

The technical effort to trace back consuming viewers turns out to be particularly difficult in practice, which lowers the risk of a potential warning. According to the information provided by the operator, the redundantly designed infrastructure is located outside the European Union, due to which a different jurisdiction applies. They assure that log and IP addresses will not be saved at any time to protect users . It is generally recommended to use legal video-on-demand providers such as B. Netflix , Prime Video etc. Ä. To change, since, according to several experts, both the site is active in the illegal area and the viewing of streams from unauthorized sources, as already explained above. The portal itself is subject to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act .

Due to an injunction from Sky Deutschland, Vodafone and other Internet providers have been blocking access to the website since December 2018 in order to a. "To stop the illegal consumption of the TV series 'Das Boot'". The preliminary injunction failed in the first instance before the Regional Court I in Munich due to a lack of urgency. The operators of the website recommend adjusting the DNS name server in order to regain access.
