The SAC Winterthur is the Winterthur section of the Swiss Alpine Club and is one of the larger sections of the Swiss Alpine Club with around 2950 members (as of February 2020) .

The section was founded in 1879 and is based in Winterthur. Its best-known member was the mountaineer Marcel Rüedi .

Association publications

Since the noughties, the section has been sending various printed publications such as the tour program, the annual report and a four- to six-page bulletin two to four times a year by post. Since 2019, a 32 to 36-page booklet called "1879" has been sent out twice a year and is also available online as a PDF.

Huts

The Winterthur section operates three SAC huts and one club hut, these offer simple accommodation for alpinists, climbers, hikers and also for families with children and for mountain bikers.
