The Kistenpasshütte is a mountain hut of the Winterthur section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) in the canton of Glarus in Switzerland . It is located on the Kistenpass in the Glarus Alps , south of Linthal at the foot of the Muttenberge, high above the Limmerensee at 2,714 m above sea level. M.
history
The Kistenpasshütte sticks to the rock like an eagle's nest and offers a deep view of the Limmernstausee as well as a view of Selbsanft , Bifertenstock , Tödi up to the Kaiserstock (SZ). The hut offers 14 beds and is manned from July to mid-September. The rest of the time it is closed.
Approaches
The new marked route between Latten and Kistenpasshütte leads from Latten through the rock passage equipped with chains to the Kistenpasshütte and from there over the iron stairs up towards the Kistenpass or vice versa, T3.
From animal feud
- With the cable car from Tierfehd to Kalktrittli in 7 ½ minutes (self-service during operating hours). From the “Kalktrittli - Muttseehütte” mountain station, the developed hiking trail leads to the Kistenpasshütte (T3) in around 4 hours. To the Tierfed valley station (6 km from Linthal GL train station) by car or by alpine taxi.
From Linthal over the Muttseehütte
- Starting point: Linthal ( 662 m ), Tierfehd ( 805 m ) or Kalktrittli ( 1860 m )
- Via: Pantenbrugg, Baumgarten, Nüschegg, Muttenwändli
- Difficulty: trail white-red-white marks
- Time required: to the Muttseehütte 6½ hours from Linthal, 5 hours from Tierfehd or 2½ hours from the Kalktrittli, from the Muttseehütte to the Kistenpasshütte 1½ hours
- Alternative: Linthal, Auengüeter, Bodenberg, Obbortberg
From Breil / Brigels
- Starting point: Breil / Brigels ( 1280 m )
- Via: Alp da Stiarls, Rubi Sut, Rubi Sura, Kistenpass ( 2640 m )
- Difficulty: hiking trail marked white-red-white , T3.
- Time required: 5 hours
- Alternative: Alp Quader ( 1906 m , end of the road from Breil / Brigels), Cuolm da Rubi, Rubi Sura (-1½ hour)
From Elm
- Starting point: Elm ( 977 m ) or Wichlenberg ( 1297 m )
- Via: Panixer Pass ( 2407 m ), Fuorcla da Gaviolas ( 2528 m ), Falla Lenn ( 2578 m ), Kistenpass ( 2640 m )
- Difficulty: T2-T3, as trail white-red-white highlighted
- Time required: 11 hours from Elm, 9½ hours from Wichlenberg
From Linthal over the Vorstegstock
- Starting point: Linthal ( 662 m )
- Via: Vorstegstock ( 2678 m ), west past Scheidstöckli on the ridge ( 2742 m ), west past Muttsee
- Difficulty: T3-T4
- Time required: 6 hours
- Alternative: from the ridge ( 2742 m ) cross Rüchi ( 2850 m ) and Nüschenstock ( 2893 m ) (+1 hour, T3-T4 SAC hiking scale )
