The Hausstock ( 3158  m above sea level ) is a summit in the Glarus Alps in Switzerland .

Location and surroundings

The Hausstock belongs to the main ridge of the Glarus Alps, which forms the border between the cantons of Glarus and Graubünden , and is their highest peak in the area between Bifertenstock and Ringelspitz . The summit is a few meters south of the border in Graubünden. To the north, the Hausstock sends the mountain range that separates the Glarner Grosstal from the Sernftal .

Neighboring peaks are the Ruchi in the southwest , the Mättlenstocks in the north, the Chalchhorn in the east and the Piz Fluaz in the southeast.

Routes to the summit

The easiest route leads over the fully accessible south ridge in two hours from Piz Fluaz to the summit.

A two-day tour leads from the Vorderrheintal over the Kistenpass , Muttseehütte , Hintersulzlücke to the summit and over the Glacier da Mer and Panixerpass back into the valley. It is a crampon tour with a ridge crossing (fixed ropes) and easy climbing .
