SEA-ME-WE 5 or South-East Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 5 is a submarine cable that connects Europe and Asia . SEA-ME-WE 5 is the fifth of a family of several similarly named large submarine cables to connect Europe with Asia. Forerunners are SEA-ME-WE 3 and SEA-ME-WE 4 .
Building history
The laying of the cables began on September 22, 2014 and the work was completed on February 28, 2017.
