The SLK-Kliniken Heilbronn GmbH operates three hospitals and a geriatric rehabilitation clinic in the city and district of Heilbronn . With more than 4,000 employees, the SLK clinics are the largest healthcare provider in the Heilbronn-Franken region. The SLK group includes the Klinikum am Gesundbrunnen , the Klinikum am Plattenwald , the Möckmühl Hospital and the Geriatric Rehabilitation Clinic in Brackenheim . As a subsidiary, the Löwenstein Clinic is also part of the SLK clinics. Together they cover basic medical care up to maximum care.

history

The SLK-Kliniken Heilbronn GmbH was created on January 1, 2001 through the merger of the Kliniken GmbH Landkreis Heilbronn and the Klinikum Heilbronn GmbH. Klinikum Heilbronn GmbH consisted of the clinic locations Klinikum am Gesundbrunnen and the Jägerhaus Hospital. Kliniken GmbH Landkreis Heilbronn was made up of the three hospitals in the Heilbronn district Klinikum am Plattenwald, Brackenheim Hospital and Möckmühl Hospital.

New buildings

A new clinic is built at the Heilbronn location. The first construction phase has already been put into operation. A new building was also built at the Bad Friedrichshall site.

The new building of the Klinikum am Plattenwald comprises seven floors with a total of around 350 beds. In addition, seven modern operating theaters were built, including a hybrid operating room . The building, which is equipped with modern medical technology, cost a total of 140 million euros. It covers a total area of ​​49,000 square meters.

The new building of the Klinikum am Gesundbrunnen also consists of seven floors and has a total area of ​​82,000 square meters. A central emergency room, 16 modern operating rooms and six delivery rooms were implemented in the building. The first construction phase of the new building offers space for around 550 beds, 64 of which are in the two intensive care units. The costs of the major project amount to 235 million euros. At the end of 2017, the second construction phase will begin at the Gesundbrunnen site, which is to be completed by 2022.

In the hospitals (excluding the Löwenstein subsidiary) of the SLK group, a total of around 1,460 beds are available. Every year, almost 72,400 inpatients and around 185,550 outpatients are treated in the SLK clinics. The SLK clinics employ almost 4,200 people, making them the largest healthcare provider in the Heilbronn-Franken region.

Shareholder

The shareholders of SLK-Kliniken Heilbronn GmbH are the regional health holding Heilbronn Franken, the city of Heilbronn and the district of Heilbronn . The chairman of the supervisory board is Harry Mergel , Lord Mayor of the city of Heilbronn, his deputy is Detlef Piepenburg , district administrator of the Heilbronn district.

education

The SLK clinics operate their own health academy, which offers training positions in the nursing and assistance areas. The SLK clinics also offer dual courses of study in health management, medical informatics, social work in health care and medical technology. The SLK clinics also provide training in commercial and IT professions. Further education and training are offered in numerous areas, as well as the voluntary social year, federal voluntary service and internships.
