Detlef Piepenburg (born July 2, 1956 ) is a German lawyer and politician .

Piepenburg grew up in Knittlingen . After studying law at the University of Heidelberg , he was building department for the Freiburg district from 1986 to 1989 , then he was responsible for the environmental sector in the Freiburg regional council. In 1990/1991 he was managing director of a medium-sized company.

He returned to the public service and was responsible for waste law at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment from 1992 to 1994 . In 1994 he became the first state official in the Heilbronn district office, and in 1997 he was elected district administrator of the Neckar-Odenwald district . Since September 25, 2005 he has been the district administrator in the Heilbronn district . When he was elected, Piepenburg, who was not part of the party, received all votes from the 79 district councilors of the Heilbronn district assembly .

Piepenburg is married and has two adult children.
