SNB M / SNB MD 11

For passenger transport on the route between Svendborg and Nyborg , the company acquired a six-axle railcar with three bogies in 1932 to save on locomotive-driven trains . The supplier was the Danish locomotive factory Triangel in Odense , the vehicle had the serial number 1353. From 1936 the railcar was designated as SNB MD 11 .

Technical Equipment

The body of the railcar was supplied by Scandia A / S in Randers . The electrical equipment came from Thrige. While the front and rear running bogies had no drive, the motor bogie located in the middle of the car contained the entire drive technology of the vehicle.

Since the Svendborg – Nyborg railway line was leased to Sydfyenske Jernbaner (SFJ) in 1902 , the vehicles have been maintained and used by the SFJ.

With the takeover of Sydfyenske Jernbaner on April 1, 1949 by Danske Statsbaner (DSB), the SNB vehicles were transferred to the state railways for use. However, the railcar remained in the possession of the SNB and did not become the property of the state railways. It received the series designation MDF and the road number 496.

He was based in Odense from 1951 to 1953 and was seconded in 1954. His retirement took place in 1957.

The railcar was sold in 1957 to Odense – Kerteminde – Martofte Jernbane (Kertemindebanen), which owned two other vehicles of the same type. It was no longer used there and was used as a spare parts dispenser.
