history

The foundation stone of SNT - the abbreviation originally stood for Service Network Telecom - was laid by the Dutchman Tobias AM Walraven in 1985, initially in data processing. He established telephony as a recognized sales and service tool in the marketing mix and subsequently expanded his company into a European communications service provider.

In 1994 the telemarketing service provider Diatel Direkt was founded in Frankfurt am Main. In the years that followed, the company recorded rapid growth in terms of employees, locations and industry expertise. At the end of 2000 the name was changed to SNT Deutschland AG.

In 2002, the company took over all customer care units (Potsdam, Essen, Cologne) including management of the mobile communications provider E-Plus . Both the E-Plus Group and SNT Deutschland AG are wholly owned subsidiaries of the Dutch KPN.

In 2006, the Pforzheim, Cologne and Limburg locations were closed for cost reasons and the Dietzenbach location was sold. Around 900 employees were affected.

As of November 1, 2011, around 1900 employees at the Berlin, Essen, Neubrandenburg and Potsdam locations were outsourced to E-Plus Customer Support GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of E-Plus Mobilfunk GmbH & Co. KG. After the spin-off, SNT continues to employ around 3,000 people at seven locations.

On March 31, 2015, the Greifswald site (SNT Greifswald GmbH), which previously had 251 employees, was closed.
