SRF news

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SRF Nachrichten is the name for the radio news on all channels of the public broadcaster Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen . The program consists of half-hourly bulletins that usually last between three and four minutes. Longer issues are also sent several times a day. The SRF news together with the TV Tagesschau form the cornerstones of the SRF news offering .

The programs summarize the news situation in the domestic, international, business and sports sectors. Only facts should be conveyed. The SRF radio news differs significantly from the SRF television news , which places more emphasis on analyzes, assessments and comments. In the radio, this function is fulfilled by the rendezvous (midday) and the echo of time (evening).

history

The SRG and the regional radio stations were allowed from 1931 to 1971 its news content only on the Swiss Telegraphic Agency relate (SDA). This was regulated in order to protect the print media from competition from radio .

Up until the beginning of the Second World War, SRG only broadcast two news bulletins a day, and then four from 1939. The programs were entirely produced by SDA.

From 1966 the SRG began to set up its own information department and supplemented the four SDA bulletins with its own hourly programs. But it was not until 1971 that the SRG was able to completely break away from the SDA. Since then, SRG has been responsible for the content of the radio news.

Current issues

Today the SRF news is broadcast around the clock, seven days a week. There is always a broadcast on at least one channel on Swiss radio and television at xx: 00 am and xx: 30 am . The SRF news runs every half hour on Radio SRF 4 News , the news channel of Swiss radio and television that is broadcast via DAB .

SRF 1 , SRF 2 Kultur , SRF 3 , Virus and the music wave usually bring a bulletin on the hour. But there are also exceptions, for example in the morning (every half hour on all channels) or at night ( SRF 2 then does not send any messages).

shape

The programs are each moderated by a single newscaster . He reads the news out in monologues . The weather report is at the end of the broadcast . Each issue ends with the sentence "That was the news from Radio SRF". Then the moderator gives his name and the name of the responsible editor .

For longer editions, a headline overview is provided at the beginning. In addition, quotes from interviews and short correspondent reports are built into those programs .

language

Standard German is spoken in the SRF news , paying attention to the national characteristics ( Swiss Standard German ).

production

The news programs are produced by SRF in the Bern radio studio . Each issue is moderated live.

Over 70 different news bulletins are produced every day for the six SRF radio stations. Some programs run in parallel on several channels. However, specific editions are produced for the individual channels, particularly in the primetime in the morning and early evening.
