The Sportvereinigung 1845 Esslingen eV is a sports club in Esslingen am Neckar .
history
In 1845 the Esslingen men's gymnastics club was established. Over the years, the club changed its name again and again from the gymnastics and defense club to the gymnastics club Esslingen from 1845 to the Esslinger gymnastics and sports club from 1845 and the gymnastics and sports friends Esslingen. The SV 1845 Esslingen eV emerged in 1999 from the merger of TSF Esslingen eV (Turn- und Sportfreunde Esslingen eV) and VfL Post Esslingen eV (Association for physical exercise Post Esslingen eV).

The volleyball department of TSF Esslingen was founded in 1967 by Günther Bachlechner. Since then, Esslingen volleyball teams have been actively participating in the game. In the 1971/72, 1977/78 and 1980/81 seasons, the men played in the then third-rate Regionalliga Süd. In the 1991/92 season the women played in the Regionalliga Süd. Since 2004 the volleyball department's focus has been on youth work. In 2006 the annual volleyball youth camp was founded.
From the youth work of the volleyball department, u. a. the players Lena Gschwendtner (volleyball Bundesliga Allianz MTV Stuttgart and VC Olympia Berlin ), Tim Holler (student world champion beach volleyball 2014 and volleyball Bundesliga SV Fellbach ), Timo Koch (volleyball Bundesliga SV Fellbach), Moritz Rauber ( VfB Friedrichshafen ).
Achievements of the volleyball department:
- Promotion to the men's regional league in 1971, 1977, 1980
- Promotion to the regional league women in 1991
- Winner of the men's district cup in 2013, 2014 and 2015
beach volleyball
Beach volleyball is assigned directly to the volleyball department at SV 1845 Esslingen . In 1995 the first beach volleyball fields in the Esslingen region were built on the club's own Eberhard Bauer stadium in Esslingen-Weil . In 2012 two additional fields were built. With four competitive beach volleyball fields, the BeachArena Esslingen is one of the largest beach volleyball facilities in Württemberg.
Other sports
In addition to volleyball and beach volleyball , the sports of fencing , soccer , jazz dance , canoeing , rhythmic gymnastics , wheelchair fencing , bowling , dance , tennis and table tennis are also offered at SV 1845 Esslingen . In addition, there are training groups for leisure and health sports as well as for skiing and leisure.

In addition to pure club sports, SV 1845 Esslingen offers a range of courses from body styling to yoga.
