The SV Concordia Erfurt is a sports club that was founded in 1951 as BSG Progress Erfurt . Within the club there are volleyball , canoeing , gymnastics , sport shooting and sport acrobatics . The football department takes part in games as SG An der Lache Erfurt .

history

On May 19, 1951, the BSG Progress Erfurt was founded. The carrier companies were the VEB Schuhkombinat "Paul Schäfer" and the Maschienenbauhandel Erfurt. During the GDR era , the company sports association only appeared nationwide with its women's football department . In 1990, in the course of the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was restructured into an independent club, including renaming to SV Concordia Erfurt . Early years

After it was founded in 1972, the women's team at BSG Progress Erfurt was initially active as a hobby team. Jan-Peter Richter acted as the head of the section for many years. The game operation in the first years was limited to friendly games . The first successes came in 1978 and 1979, when you became indoor district champion twice in a row. The progress women were to dominate the Erfurt district in football until the 1980s .

Performing in GDR best determinations

The team took part in all GDR best determinations . At the first assessment of the best in 1979 , the Erfurt women made their debut in points. They won 2: 1 against BSG Modedruck Gera . After a total of two wins and one defeat after three preliminary round matches, the team took second place in Group 3 and thus did not qualify for the final round.

The first group win combined with the first participation in the finals came in 1982. A win against BSG Chemie Wolfen was faced with three defeats, which ultimately meant fourth place among five participating teams. Also in the following year the qualification for the finals succeeded, which was again concluded with one win and three defeats and the last place in the table. However, this time the Erfurt women made Andrea Scheit, who scored all four goals in the 4-1 win against BSG EAB 47 Berlin , the top scorer of the finals.

The best placement was achieved by the progress women in 1986. In the changed mode of the best determination, the Erfurt women advanced to the semi-finals, but failed here at the BSG Motor Halle (1: 4 and 0: 0), so they together with the BSG EAB 47 Berlin took third place.

Performing in the NOFV-Oberliga

The BSG Progress Erfurt qualified for the 1990/91 season for the first-ever NOFV women's league . After two wins, two draws, 14 defeats and a goal difference of 13:53, they finished 9th and penultimate place. This was automatically the athletic qualification for another season in the top women's division in the GDR, but the club refused to apply.

Development after the fall of the Wall

After renaming in 1990, the club no longer provided a women's team after the 1990/91 season. Many players therefore switched to SV Grün-Weiß Erfurt , where they formed the basis for the 1. FFV Erfurt that exists today .
