history

Green and white roots

The roots of the 1. FFV Erfurt lie with SV Grün-Weiß Erfurt. In 1992, the SV Grün-Weiß Erfurt made it to the Oberliga Nordost (today Regionalliga), at that time the second highest division in Germany. In terms of sport, the team showed fluctuations in the next few years, the team mainly fought against relegation. In the 1994/95 season they achieved 6th place, the greatest success of this time. On June 25, 1997, the women's soccer department separated from the main club and founded the 1. FFV Grün-Weiß Erfurt. For personnel reasons, the club withdrew its team from the regional league in the first year of the game and started in the Thuringia regional league. In the years that followed, the team was rejuvenated and priority was given to youth work.

The hour of birth of the 1st FFV

In 2003 the name "Grün-Weiß" was completely deleted from the club name, now the 1. FFV Erfurt was an integral part of women's football in Thuringia. The work of the past few years has borne fruit. In 2005 the team became the Thuringian indoor champion for the first time and ended the years of dominance of the FF USV Jena. With an average age of 19 years, the team was runner-up in the Thuringia regional league in the 2005/06 season. By renouncing the FSV 1921 Uder to participate in the exit round, the 1. FFV Erfurt was allowed to take its place. In the decisive game they won 3-1 at home against Fortuna Dresden-Rähnitz. After eight years of abstinence, the young Erfurt team managed to return to the regional league. In 2014 the 1st FFV was relegated from the regional league, but 12 months later, after a successful relegation, they were promoted again. On April 21, 2017, the club announced that, despite athletic qualifications for the new regional league season, it would be competing with its first women's team in the Thuringia Association League from summer 2017. In the 2017/18 season, in addition to the championship in the association league, the national cup and the indoor championship followed. In 2019 he was promoted back to the regional league.

Success and promotion of young talent

Between 2010 and 2013, the team won the Thuringian Cup four times in a row, thereby qualifying for the DFB Cup. Since 2005 there has also been a second team in the club, which made it to the Thuringia regional league in the 2007/08 season. In the 2011/12 season, the B girls team became the 3rd women's team, which was promoted to the Thuringia / West regional class in the following season. Above all, the youngsters are in the foreground, as evidenced by numerous national and indoor championship titles as well as cup wins. Since 2014, the club has also been offering special, club-independent talent training. The medium-term goal of the association is to develop a performance and training center in Thuringia's state capital Erfurt.
