Sa Font Celada (also: sa Font Salada ) is a small bay with a sandy beach in the northeast of the Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located 8 kilometers north of the small town of Artà .
Location and description
Located in the northern part of the municipality of Arta, in the area of Aubarca (also Albarca ), the bay is Cala de sa Font Celada the mouth of the torrent of Castellot , a torrent ( Torrent ) that its water releases only with very heavy rain into the sea. A small brackish pond usually remains behind the beach .
The shallow beach of the bay with fine golden sand can only be reached on foot on the path along the coast between Cala Estreta and Cap de Ferrutx or by off-road vehicle over private properties or the public estates of the Parc natural de la península de Llevant . The distance to the east of Cala Estreta is about four kilometers. Due to fresh water springs, the sea water is a little cooler here than on other beaches.
Access
Coming from Artà take the MA-15 road towards Cala Rajada , then follow the signs to Cala Torta . At the right-hand junction to Cala Torta, choose the straight road towards Cala Estreta . This is where the road ends and the coastal hiking trail to the west then leads to sa Font Celada .
