The Saardeutsche Volksstimme was a weekly newspaper and the party organ of the NSDAP in the Saar area .
history
The Saardeutsche Volksstimme was published for the first time in June 1928 and saw itself as the "Combat Journal of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, Gau Saar", as was the subtitle of the newspaper. The weekly newspaper always appeared at the weekend and cost 1 franc . Walter Jung acted as editor and Karl Cartarius from Saarbrücken was the editor . The editorial office was initially on Lohmühlenstrasse, with printing by the Haupt printing company in Neufechingen .
In terms of content, the newspaper was fully in line with the party line and mainly contained anti-Semitic , anti-socialist and anti - communist agitation, which specialized in denouncing well-known personalities in the Saar area.
In 1929 Jung was deposed as editor and replaced by Gottfried Feder , who directed the fortunes of the newspaper from Darmstadt and had it published by the Franconian Volksverlag in Nuremberg . This was accompanied by the development that topics specific to the Saar were only of minor importance. Saar topics were only taken up on page 1, the rest of the sheet was devoted to announcements from other districts. In 1931 the Saar German Volksstimme was banned for three months by the Saar government commission. After that the newspaper was produced again in Saarbrücken under the new editor Richard Adt . Therefore, the reporting on topics from the Saar area dominated again.
