Walter Jung (born August 8, 1898 in Dudweiler , † after 1931) was a German National Socialist and " old fighter " of the NSDAP .

Life

Walter Jung worked as a smelter. He lived in his native town of Dudweiler until 1928 and then moved to Saarbrücken. On May 30, 1926, he became the unofficial Gauleiter of the NSDAP in the Saar area until it was officially founded and Jakob Jung was appointed on December 8, 1926. He officially joined the NSDAP's local branch in Saarbrücken on November 28, 1926 with membership number 47.851 until 1928 worked as their press attendant. As editor-in-chief he worked from 1926 for the weekly magazine Der Saardeutsche and published some articles in the Völkischer Beobachter . He later became editor of the Saardeutschen Volksstimme , but was replaced on September 30, 1928 by Jakob Jung.

Jung was expelled from the party on October 1, 1929, because he distanced himself from anti-Semitic statements attributed to him in a trial against Felix Hanau (a Jewish businessman) . Another reason for exclusion was criticism of the Reich leadership , which Jung accused of "big business". An application for resumption was denied in 1931.
