Der Saardeutsche , subtitle: Political weekly newspaper for the working classes in town and country , was a National Socialist weekly newspaper in the Saar area , which appeared from the beginning of 1925 to mid-1926.

history

The Saar German was first beginning in 1925 by the NSDAP - district inspector Wolfgang Bergemann published, also known as chief editor was responsible. The paper was conceived as a follow-up newspaper to the Deutsche Saarzeitung , which served as the DNVP's party organ from 1925 . In contrast to its predecessor, Der Saardeutsche was available at the kiosk and was able to increase its circulation tenfold. The editorial office was located at Provinzialstrasse 102 in Brebach . The printing took place in the Eduard Haupt printing house , also in Brebach.

The newspaper was völkisch , National Socialist and also aggressively anti - Semitic . The government commission of the Saar region , whose members were often victims of the newspaper's attacks, banned the newspaper on August 27, 1925. However, the ban lasted only a few weeks. In May 1926 Bergemann was deposed as editor-in-chief and replaced by NSDAP Gauleiter Walter Jung . In June 1926 the paper was discontinued for unknown reasons. Jung switched to the Völkischer Beobachter as an editor .

garnish

From March 1925, Der deutsche Saarbergmann appeared as a supplement. The paper, also published by Bergemann, was aimed at “the miners working in the French-managed mining industry. Topics from the world of work - especially about the French rule on the Saar pits - ranked alongside anti-Semitic inflammatory articles and article series. "
