Sabal yapa is a species of the genus Sabal within the palm family (Arecaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
Sabal yapa grows as a palm tree up to 20 meters high with a crown of up to 20 leaves. The leaves are divided into a petiole and a leaf blade. The fan-shaped leaf blade is divided hand-shaped.
Generative characteristics
The flowers are threefold.
Occurrence
The natural range is Belize , Guatemala , western Cuba and the Mexican states of Yucatan , Campeche and Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula . It mainly thrives on soils that have developed over limestone .
