Sabine Gottel

Sabine Göttel (born March 7, 1961 in Homburg ) is a German dramaturge , writer and lecturer .

Life

Sabine Göttel was born in Homburg / Saar and, after graduating from high school in 1980, studied German and French literature at the University of Cologne and at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken . In 1997 she did her doctorate on Marieluise Fleißer .

Göttel published literary, journalistic and scientific texts, among others at Rowohlt Verlag . From 1997 to 2004 she worked as a dramaturge at theaters in Hildesheim and Göttingen . In addition, she worked as an editor , director and lecturer.

Sabine Göttel has been working as a freelance dramaturge, author and lecturer since 2005. a. at the Leibniz University Hannover. In 2009 she founded the Academy of Literature and Life together with Christina Rohwetter. In 2012 her play "Eisenheart" premiered, which is based on the fate of the German Jens Soering imprisoned in the USA . In 1987 her first volume of poetry, "Fish Flutes", was published by Röhrig Verlag. In 2019 she was a scholarship holder of the Printemps Poétique Transfrontalier. At the beginning of 2020 she published her volume of poetry "Geister" in Röhrig Verlag.

Sabine Göttel lives and works in Hanover.
