Sachse is a city in Dallas County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located 5 km northeast of Garland , 30 km northeast of Dallas and has a total area of 25.6 km², of which 0.4 km² is water.
history
Sachse was founded in 1845 by the German immigrant William Sachse. The formal founding year was 1886 when Sachse made land available for a station of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway .
Demographic data
According to the 2000 census, 9,751 people lived here in 3,224 households and 2,746 families. The population density was 386.9 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 87.34% White, 4.63% African American, 0.65% Native American, 2.15% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, and 3.37% other ethnic groups. About 1.85% were of mixed race and 8.21% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 3,224 households, 51.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 75.3% of them were married couples living together. 7.1% were single mothers and 14.8% were non-families. 11.2% of all households were single households and there were people living in 2.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.02 and the average family size was 3.28.
32.7% of the population were under 18 years old, 6.1% 18 to 24, 39.3% 25 to 44, 17.9% 45 to 64, and 4.0% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 99.2 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 97.5 men.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 70,333 , and the median income for a family is $ 71,918. Males had a median income of $ 50,582 versus $ 35,174 for females. The per capita income was $ 25,530. 4.6% of the population and 3.4% of families are below the poverty line. Of these, 4.5% were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 11.1% were 65 or older.
