The Sadies are an alternative country band from Toronto , Canada .

Band history and style

The band was formed in Toronto , Canada . The two brothers Dallas and Travis Good, whose father and uncle play in the band The Good Brothers , got into music and touch early on and learned their craft. Because of this connection to traditional music or country music , some traditional pieces can be found in their repertoire. They played live for some time as the backing band of Neko Case ( can be heard on The Tigers Have Spoken, among others ). Travis was a member of The Good Brothers for a short time.

The first recordings were released on the Chicago label Bloodshot Records . The Canadians' style is in the alternative country area, but is home to a wide variety of influences, which makes it difficult to pigeonhole. It is more common than Vintage - Surf - Punk - Western - Roots described music.

There are numerous collaborations with other artists such as Jon Langford or Andre Williams. They can also be heard on numerous compilations from Bloodshot Records .
