γ Cygni ( Gamma Cygni ) is a star in the constellation Swan . The star is also under its proper name Sadr (shortened from arab .صدر الدجاجة, DMG ṣadr ad-daǧāǧa 'breast of the hen') (name variants: Sadir, Sador, Sadr el dedschadsche). Gamma Cygni belongs to the spectral class F8 and has an apparent magnitude of 2.2 mag, making it one of the 100 brightest stars in the night sky. Its distance is about 1800 light years .
