Sahara is a German progressive rock band from Munich from the 1970s.

history

Founded in 1966 as The Subjects , the group recorded their first album (1972) under the name Subject Esq. on. Then the group renamed itself Sahara and the albums Sahara Sunrise (1974) and For All the Clowns (1975) were released. In the late 1970s, the band broke up.

After a long break, the group was active again in 2006 with the original cast. On August 2nd, 2006, 40 years after the band was founded, a reunion concert took place at the Theatron Festival . Further highlights were the open-air concert at the Burg-Herzberg-Festival in July 2007, the performance in the former Blow Up, today Schauburg (Munich) in April 2008 and the concert event in the Academy of Fine Arts Munich in February 2009. Im October 2019 the band broke up.
