The group's housing activities are coordinated by Sahle Baubetreuungsgesellschaft mbH , which also employs a large number of the 370 full-time and 435 part-time employees. The housing company is active in publicly funded and privately financed housing construction and is represented in over 40 cities across Germany. A regional focus is on residential complexes in the centers of North Rhine-Westphalia , e.g. B. in Cologne , Essen , Düsseldorf , Duisburg , Bonn and Münster . The company is also active in Hamburg (e.g. Harburg and Bramfeld) and Frankfurt am Main (Europaviertel), where residential construction projects are currently underway (as of early 2016). The subsidiary Ihr Haus Sahle Massivbau GmbH also creates and markets private homes. 24 regional customer centers represent the company in the individual cities. By participating in the non-profit organization “Parea”, the company claims to promote sustainable neighborly togetherness and active senior living.

In the group of companies, the construction and housing sectors are interlinked. All essential individual services from the planning of the residential complexes and single-family houses to the construction and operation up to permanent rental are provided by parts of the group in mutual coordination.

history

In 1963 Paul Sahle first bought a residential complex in the Hansaviertel in Greven for the employees of the family-owned shoe factory. However, when they did not want to move in, the apartments were rented to the Dutch military. In the 1970s, the Sahle Baubüro began to get involved in publicly funded housing construction. In Cologne and Wuppertal , for example, new construction projects with several hundred apartments were built. The company also took over the construction activities itself.

In the 1980s, Sahle Wohnen grew rapidly, among other things through the purchase of around 5,500 apartments from the Northwest German Settlement Society (NWDS). The company's range of offers now also included private homes, so that comprehensive urban development solutions for large areas could be planned and implemented. Expansion continued in the 1990s. At the same time, energy modernization began in many residential complexes in order to save energy and emissions.

In the 2000s, an entire new district was built in Frankfurt am Main , an area in Duisburg was rebuilt for multi-generational living and large parts of the urban housing stock in Bonn was taken over and modernized. From 2010 onwards, commercial properties were added in central inner-city locations. A generation change began within the company.
