Sai Kaleshwar (for his followers: Sri Kaleshwar ; born January 8, 1973 in Madhavaram , Andhra Pradesh , India ; † March 15, 2012 in Bangalore ; birth name: Kaleshwar Anupati ) was a Hindu guru in the lineage of Shirdi Sai Baba . His ashram is in Penukonda .

Life

Kaleshwar's father Subaraiyadu worked as a professor; he and his wife Subbamma raised Kaleshwar along with his older brother and three sisters in the tradition of Hinduism. As a student, Kaleshwar often did his schoolwork in the seclusion of an abandoned temple. He is said to have had a formative encounter with a beggar whom he later recognized in a photo as the deceased famous saint Shirdi Sai Baba . According to his own account, he began to see this in his dreams and to hear his voice; at the age of 14, he was advised to go to Shirdi, the village of Sai Babas. Then he began to study spiritual knowledge of Hinduism from historical palm leaf books and developed his own teachings and techniques with mantras and yantras , which are passed on within the framework of the Soul University .

Out of obedience to his parents, Kaleshwar studied chemistry, biology and botany. After the successful graduation, however, he traveled all over India as a mendicant monk, visited places of power and tried to expand his spiritual knowledge. In 1993 he founded an ashram in the South Indian village of Penukonda, not far from the metropolis of Bangalore , and supports the local population in numerous aid projects.

The "Open International University of Complementary Medicine" awarded Kaleshwar an honorary doctorate for allegedly outstanding humanitarian achievements.

Kaleshwar wrote numerous books and manuscripts, some of which appeared in German translation; he also dealt with the mystical Indian architecture lesson Vaastu . He died on March 15, 2012 in a Bangaluru hospital of severe liver and kidney disease.
