Saint-Nicolas-en-Forêt is a former French commune in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). Today Saint-Nicolas-en-Forêt is part of the municipality of Hayange .

history

Saint-Nicolas-en-Forêt is a planned workers' settlement whose construction began around 1950.

The municipality of Saint-Nicolas-en-Forêt was formed in 1957 from parts of the municipalities of Fameck and Ranguevaux . The community belonged to the canton of Hayange and had 3407 inhabitants (as of 1962). In 1969 it was incorporated into Hayange.
