Communities Saint Sauveur

The Saint Sauveur River is a short river on the east coast of Dominica in the Parish Saint David , which nevertheless forms its own small river system in the crater of Saint Sauveur .

geography

The Saint Sauveur River arises from the confluence of the Ravine Fille and the River Bois Marigot at the Saint Sauveur Estate , flows east and crosses Saint Sauveur , where it very soon flows into the Atlantic Ocean in Grand Marigot Bay . The river is only several hundred meters long, but forms its own small river system in the Saint Sauveur crater with the tributaries coming from the crater edges. The crater extends oval from east to southwest with the highest points at 369  m at Good Hope in the northeast and at the southwest end at Trou Cochon ( Aux Delices ) and the Morne Aux Delices ( 425  m , ), in Petite Soufrièré and the extension of the crater rim through the headland of Saint Sauveur ( Bagatelle ). In this basin there are other streams ( Good Hope Ravine , Kola Sarri River , Ravine Bambou (Saint Sauveur) , Ravine Bagatelle ) which, however, flow directly into the Atlantic. The drainage basins of the Castle Bruce River and Rosalie River extend behind the crater's crest . The crater of Petite Soufrièré, which adjoins directly to the southeast, also has its own catchment area with the two creeks Ravine Mahaut and Ravine Louis .
