Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa ( Japanese 聖 闘 士 星矢 THE LOST CANVAS 冥王 神話 , Seinto Seiya Za Rosuto Kyanbasu - Meiō Shinwa ) is a manga by Shiori Teshirogi. It is an offshoot of the manga series Saint Seiya by Masami Kurumada .

As of 2009, the series was also released as anime in 26 episodes.

action

Lost Canvas tells the story of the holy war against Hades , which was fought 250 years before the original series and which is addressed there several times. The protagonists are the three childhood friends Tenma, Sasha and Alone, who grow up in the same village in Italy. However, one day Sasha is brought to the Sanctuary of Athena by Sisyphus, the Sagittarius Saint , as she is the reincarnation of Athenas. Shortly afterwards Dohko, the Libra Saint, discovers an extraordinarily strong cosmos in Tenma, whereupon he, as Dohko's student, is brought to the Sanctuary. Alone, Sasha's brother, remains in the village and is passionate about painting. However, even he does not remain unmolested, because a few years later Hypnos recognizes in him the reincarnation of Hades and he is brought to him by Pandora , whereupon he is convinced of his destiny and so Hades is awakened in him. With this the holy war begins and the Specters are sent against Athena.

Alone begins to paint the picture "Lost Canvas" in the sky, a picture which shows the world and at the end of which the world will die. However, since Alone is not yet fully controlled by Hades, Hypnos , his brother Thanatos and Pandora take control of the Specters. Tenma, who has meanwhile been trained as a Pagasus Saint, faces the attack of the Specters together with his friends Yato and Yuzurihai as well as the Gold Saints.
